Marvel Studios announced in July that I am Groot is set to premiere on August 10, and they have kept their word. A total of five episodes of this heartwarming animated series have just been released on Disney+.
The storyline of I am Groot is set between Guardians of the Galaxy and a scene after the credits of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The series will see Groot’s first steps outside the pot, and his crazy adventures.
The trailer presented earlier showed, among other things, that he meets an alien civilization for which even such a small Groot is huge.
However, this will only be the case for the first two episodes of the series. By the third episode, Groot will be searching for the source of strange sounds aboard the Quadrant and will meet a shape-shifting alien there, ending in an unusual interaction.
In the fourth episode, he will be reminded of hygiene, as Groot will choose to take a bath, resulting in a sudden growth of leaves. It will be an ideal opportunity for this representative of Flora colossi to play a little with his appearance and find out what he is best at.
In the series there will be no shortage of Groot’s companion, Rocket, who will have to find himself in the role of not only a friend, but also a parent in the last episode, as little Groot tries to paint a portrait of his family, the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The wooden toddler will, of course, be voiced by Vin Diesel and, perhaps most importantly, the production is expected to be completely canonical to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its second season is likely to appear in 2023 and will also include five episodes, but so far no details are available.
