Valheim, the open-world survival game that has taken the gaming world by storm, has been making waves with its recent console release.
However, the developers at Iron Gate Studios are not content with resting on their laurels. They are constantly striving to improve the game and offer new features to keep the players engaged.
Lead designer Jonathan Smårs has recently shed some light on the upcoming feature that has been the talk of the town among Valheim enthusiasts – difficulty settings.
While the survival aspect of the game has been a hit with many players, others have been more interested in the building aspect. The new difficulty settings will cater to both types of players.

The new settings will offer players a range of options to customize their gameplay experience. They will be able to tweak the difficulty of the fights, regulate the yield of resources, and choose how they are punished in case of death.
There will even be a hardcore mode for the most daring players, where they stand to lose everything they own, including their skills.
The number of monster attacks on the settlement can also be set, and raids can be turned off completely for players who are interested in focusing more on building.
With these new settings, even players who may have shied away from the survival aspect of the game can now enjoy Valheim as a building game.
In addition, players will have the option to deactivate the map and the portals, switch off construction costs, and even set opponents to “passive”. What’s more, these settings can be changed at any time, even in worlds that have already been created.
While there is no official release date for the update, Valheim fans can look forward to the enhanced gameplay experience that the new difficulty settings promise to offer.
So, whether you are a hardcore survival enthusiast or a laid-back builder, there’s something for everyone in Valheim’s new update.
