Marvel Snap is embracing the cosmic power of the Eternals with its latest major content update dubbed the “Celestials’ Finest” season. Players can now add immortal heroes like Gilgamesh, Thena, and the supreme Celestial Arishem to their decks.
Headlining the new wave of cards is Gilgamesh, who serves as the premium season pass unlockable card. His “On Reveal” ability grants +1 Power to each friendly card already boosted by effects like Okoye’s or Phastos’. Speaking of whom, the technologically brilliant Eternal is also joining the fray later this month with the power to reduce costs or directly buff allies.
But the true star may be Arishem the Judge, Marvel Snap’s first 7-cost card. This towering Celestial starts each game by increasing the player’s maximum energy reserves. The tradeoff is that Arishem shuffles 12 random cards into the deck – an exciting high risk, high reward prospect.
Rounding out the Eternals squad are offensive powerhouse Thena, whose +3 Power per turn has already shaken up the meta, and the speedster Makkari. Two new cosmic locations, the World Forge and Ark of the Eternals, provide additional synergies.
As is tradition, new card artwork variants themed around the update’s characters and setting are also being added across multiple Series. Kicking things off on June 4th is an album designed by the iconic Skottie Young, known for his reimagined youthful takes on classic Marvel heroes. The celebrated Peach Momoko follows on June 17th, bringing her distinct Japanese animation influence. Finally, a “Retro Future” collection celebrates the retro-futuristic sci-fi visuals evoked by Kirby’s original Eternals designs on July 1st.
The “Celestials’ Finest” content rollout exemplifies Marvel Snap’s dedication to spotlighting obscure corners of the Marvel Universe. By elevating deep cut properties like the Eternals alongside high-profile guest artists, the game has become a true love letter to Marvel’s rich comics heritage.
