The third season of ABC’s hit crime drama Will Trent will feature actor Scott Foley in a recurring role that promises to add complexity to the show’s interpersonal interactions.
Foley will portray Dr. Seth McDale, the chief of emergency medicine at an Atlanta hospital. His character is defined as confident and down-to-earth, and he will appear as a new love interest for Angie, played by Erika Christensen.
Based on Karin Slaughter’s best-selling novels, the series follows Special Agent Will Trent (Ramon Rodriguez) of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Trent’s hard beginnings in the foster care system developed his distinct approach to crime solving, allowing him to retain the GBI’s greatest case clearance rate.
Gina Rodriguez joins the new season’s cast, which premieres January 7 at 8 p.m. on ABC and is available for next-day streaming on Hulu. She will play Marion Alba, a vivacious Assistant District Attorney who becomes entangled in an investigation into Atlanta’s gang activity.
Sonja Sohn reprises her role as Amanda Wagner, Iantha Richardson plays Faith Mitchell, and Jake McLaughlin plays Michael Ormewood. Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen executive produce the series, featuring Karin Slaughter and other major producers.
Foley, represented by Independent Artist Group, Atlas Artists, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern, joins the show in its third season, as it expands its narrative and delves deeper into character interactions.
Fans can expect heightened drama and exciting character development when “Will Trent” returns to television in January.
