Director Matt Reeves gave “The Batman Part II” fans a fresh puzzle on Saturday, posting a murky image from the London set that appears to place Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in a snow-covered junkyard.
Reeves shared the picture for Batman Day with the caption “Happy Batman Day to everyone from London!” It shows a silhouetted figure from behind, facing a hazy, dark landscape as flecks of snow drift through the frame. Reeves offered no explanation of the location.
Fans filled the gap. IGN brightened the image and found a scene that resembles a snowy Gotham scrapyard. The fan account The Batman Saga News reads the background as heaps of stacked vehicles and ties it to earlier rumors of a junkyard set. Others see trees, smoke or a hedge maze in the vein of “The Shining.” The same account noted that the cowl’s ears look longer, thicker and more curved.
Nothing official confirms any of it. Reeves has kept the plot and villains under wraps, and this shot joins only two other sanctioned glimpses: a Batmobile camera test and an earlier photo of Pattinson in the snow. Video from the London shoot showed signs reading “Court of Fowls,” which fans take as a nod to the Court of Owls, and the story appears to unfold around Christmas.

Pattinson returns alongside Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis. Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch join the cast in undisclosed roles. Early reports pegged Stan as Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, but neither Reeves nor Warner Bros. has confirmed that.
The wait remains long. The film opens Feb. 18, 2028, after twice slipping from its original Oct. 2, 2026, date, a delay that gave Reeves more time to work. DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has said multi-year gaps between franchise sequels are typical in Hollywood. The October 2026 Gotham slot now belongs to “Clayface.” No trailer exists, and filming continues across UK locations.
