There are two organizations currently reigning in the world of American wrestling – WWE, with its very long history and long-standing hegemon status, as well as AEW, which was founded just a few years ago and quite successfully threw down the gauntlet to its “big brother.”
The former is louder in the pop-culture consciousness all the time ( mainly for the sake of media outside TV shows), however the latter intends to follow in the blazed footsteps and do it…. Better!
For this reason alone, even during the vacations we heard about AEW Fight Forever, which is a video game licensed by the aforementioned organization, an answer to the WWE 2K series.
Even in August we got the first footage announcing a “return to the Golden Era of wrestling,” and now finally we’ve received footage that shows us gameplay elements and some fragments of “brutal” ring clashes.
Over a minute long video features several well-known personalities from the world of All-Elite Wrestling (such as Adam Page, Chris Jericho, Sting, and MJF) – there is no shortage of well-known finishers, just as there is no shortage of bloody scenes where the fighters use fire extinguishers or baseball bats.
I am sure that there is no shortage of people who will be satisfied. Graphics alone are not photorealistic, obviously, with wrestling games, but the most important thing is gameplay (as several past WWE installments from 2K have shown). So how will THQ Nordic do? We will find out in 2023!
