Netflix has just unveiled its newest sensation, a murder mystery series starring Peaky Blinders’ Stephen Graham. Released on October 19, this time-jumping detective show has already garnered significant attention, with a solid 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and glowing reviews from numerous sources.

One Rotten Tomatoes critic, Dan Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter, characterizes the series as “a healthy balance between amusingly ridiculous and just-plain-ridiculous, with its audaciously high-concept narrative consistently elevated by a top-notch cast and strong production values across several time periods.” Kate Sánchez of ButWhyTho adds her perspective, hailing “Bodies” as an “expert exploration of people, places, and time.”

The Guardian, which awards the series four stars, describes this Netflix original as “ambitious, tense, explosive: this genre-blurring whodunnit travels through time to follow four detectives investigating the same murder in different eras.” They commend the series for its exceptional value.

Netflix introduced “Bodies” with a trailer that coincided closely with its release. The show is marketed as a time-slipping thriller, where four detectives traverse four distinct timelines while investigating a singular body. Their mission is to save Britain’s future by solving the murder that altered the course of history.

This intriguing narrative is based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer, and The Standard notes that the series remains faithful to the original plot, ensuring that “fans will have few complaints over continuity.”

Directed by Paul Tomalin, the series boasts a talented cast that includes Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Shira Haas, Amaka Okafor, Kyle Soller, as well as Stephen Graham, known for his roles in “Boiling Point” and “This is England.”

The first season of “Bodies” is now available for streaming on Netflix, inviting viewers into a captivating world of time-traveling detective work and suspense. If you’re curious about what else to watch this month, don’t forget to check out our list of new releases on Netflix.
