Back in July 2022, We wrote about Wizards of the Coast’s big investments in the video game sector. It turns out, sadly, that little will come of it.

In fact, The company responsible for the iconic Dungeon & Dragons has had to revise its expansion plans in the video game market.

According to Bloomberg, reporting, quoting its own informants, that Wizards of the Coast has deleted at least five of its gaming projects, which were not officially revealed.

A possible case in point is a production under the “G.I. Joe” license, first reported as early as 2021. This project was to have great momentum and a high budget. In order to realize it, the new studio was established.

In its official announcement, Wizards of the Coast asserts that it remains committed to developing video games, but it has changed its strategy slightly to “focus on existing brands.” About 10-15 people employed by the company are expected to lose their jobs as a result of these changes, Bloomberg editors say.

Among those to be negatively affected by the decision are Otherside Entertainment and Hidden Path studios. Otherside, which had worked on System Shock 3, has announced in November 2022, the production titled Argos: Riders on the Storm, with Warren Spector involved in its creation.

Hidden Path, on the other hand, worked on a “AAA game with a TPP camera, in an open world,” based in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. The project has most likely been scrapped.

Unravel the mysterious disappearance in a quaint Irish town with our Bodkin review. Follow the gripping investigation led by an American podcaster and his team, as they delve into the secrets hidden beneath Bodkin’s picturesque facade.
