Richard Madden’s Emotional Experience
Madden recalled, “I remember crying a lot, after all, I was going to be away from the family I lived with for five years. Away from my on-screen mother, wife, and crew who spent a lot of time together. The loss of that family was more traumatic than the recording itself.”
Madden’s response to the Red Wedding should not come as a surprise. The actor, along with his fellow cast members, concluded their Game of Thrones journey in a dramatic fashion, intensifying the battle for the coveted Iron Throne after the “Rains of Castamere” episode.
The Red Wedding remains one of the highest-rated episodes in the entire series to this day. If you have yet to watch Game of Thrones, the series is available on the HBO Max platform.
In addition, the highly anticipated prequel, House of the Dragon, is in the works and is expected to rival the intensity of the original series.
