The gaming community, eagerly awaiting the next-gen update of the popular game Fallout 4, has been met with a slight setback. Bethesda, the game’s developer, has announced a delay in the release of this much-anticipated upgrade, pushing it from its original 2023 schedule to 2024. This move has sparked both disappointment and curiosity among the fans of the franchise.

Last October, during the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Fallout series, Bethesda excited fans with the announcement of a next-gen update for Fallout 4. This update promised significant enhancements, including options for Performance and Resolution modes.

Gamers were looking forward to choosing between smoother, high frame rate gameplay or indulging in the rich visuals of 4K resolution. Additionally, the update was set to address various bugs and introduce new content from the Creation Club, further enriching the Fallout 4 experience.

A Necessary Delay for Perfection

Fallout 4

Originally slated for release in 2023 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, the update has now been rescheduled for 2024. Bethesda’s decision to delay the release stems from their commitment to delivering a polished and optimized version of the game.

In a statement on social media, Bethesda expressed gratitude for the patience of their fanbase and reaffirmed their excitement and dedication towards the project. They emphasized the need for additional time to ensure the update meets the high expectations of their audience.

Coinciding with the Fallout TV Series?

While Bethesda has not specified a new release date for the update, there is speculation that it might coincide with another major event in the Fallout universe. Amazon’s live-action TV adaptation of the Fallout series is set to premiere on April 12th, 2024. This has led to conjecture that the next-gen update of Fallout 4 might launch in a similar timeframe, creating a synergistic buzz for the franchise.
