Counter-Strike 2 enthusiasts, aspiring players, and hopefuls, today might just be your lucky day! While the CS2 limited test phase had initially reached only a select group of dedicated CSGO fans, Valve is now extending a fresh wave of invitations.

With the highly anticipated release date of Counter-Strike 2 approaching, Valve seeks additional bug reports and feedback from players, as they continue to fine-tune this long-awaited Steam shooter.

Exciting Updates: 2v2 Returns and Overpass Gets a Makeover

The latest Counter-Strike 2 update introduces the return of the beloved 2v2 game mode and presents an overhauled version of the iconic map, Overpass. However, during this testing phase, Nuke and Office have been temporarily removed.

Additionally, the recent Counter-Strike 2 patch notes address a critical issue related to doors interfering with bullet hit registration. And in a delightful touch, players can now enjoy realistic “sounds to potty doors.” With these improvements, Counter-Strike 2 is closer than ever to being shipped.

Increased Opportunities for Players

With the addition of these new features, more long-time CSGO players are eagerly anticipating their chance to experience Counter-Strike 2. On Tuesday, July 18, Valve confirmed the distribution of more limited test invites, widening the pool of participants.

The game creator also encourages new Counter-Strike 2 players to report any bugs they encounter via email. However, a concerning bug linked to the Medi-Shot has been reported, so players are advised to stay vigilant while playing Counter-Strike 2.

Valve Seeks Player Feedback

Lydia Zanotti, a 3D artist at Valve, urges players to report any issues they encounter in Overpass and Vertigo by emailing cs2team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com. To ensure prompt attention, players should title their email “CS2LT Bug” and provide a brief description of the bug. This proactive approach allows Valve to address and resolve issues more effectively during the testing phase.

Determining the exact number of players currently accessing Counter-Strike 2 remains challenging, as invites have reportedly been sent to notable content creators, esports players, and individuals with extensive playtime in CSGO.

Notably, CSGO has experienced a significant surge in concurrent players, reaching an all-time peak of 1,818,773 in May. Furthermore, the CSGO skin market has witnessed some volatility due to a suspected bug in the Steam marketplace.

As Counter-Strike 2 continues its trial period, players eagerly await the official release. Valve’s dedication to gathering feedback and addressing bugs underscores their commitment to delivering a polished and engaging gaming experience. With the inclusion of new players and the latest updates, the future of Counter-Strike 2 appears brighter than ever.
