In the wake of the recent technical test for the highly anticipated Hades 2, Supergiant Games has made a polite request to players to refrain from datamining the game and spoiling upcoming content. The developer’s appeal comes after certain individuals have already begun digging into the test build, uncovering details about characters and other elements not intended for early revelation.
The technical test, conducted earlier this week on Steam, provided players with a glimpse into the sequel to the critically acclaimed Hades. However, as is typical with such tests, much of the game’s content remains locked and unfinished, reserved for the eventual early access and final release stages.
Despite this, some players have taken it upon themselves to datamine the test build, extracting information and assets that Supergiant Games had hoped to unveil at a later date. In response, the developer has reached out to individuals who have shared datamined content, kindly requesting them to remove the spoiler-filled posts.
Hey friends, just a little heads up

One such instance involved a Twitter user who had shared artwork of new characters discovered through datamining. Supergiant Games approached the user, explaining, “Hey, we wanted to ask if you’d be willing to delete this tweet containing data-mined content from Hades 2. It was our mistake to include content in the build that wasn’t meant to be revealed yet, and we know no harm was intended by posting it or anything like that. This is just an example of something we hoped players would discover in the Early Access version.”
The developer’s request underscores the delicate balance between fan enthusiasm and preserving the intended reveal timeline for a highly anticipated title like Hades 2. While datamining is a common practice among dedicated gaming communities, it can often lead to unintended spoilers and dilute the impact of carefully planned content reveals.
Supergiant Games’ approach highlights the studio’s commitment to maintaining a sense of surprise and discovery for players, allowing them to experience the game’s narrative and characters as intended during the early access and final release phases.
As Hades 2 inches closer to its early access launch on PC later this year, the developer’s appeal serves as a gentle reminder to fans to exercise patience and respect the developer’s vision for the game’s rollout. By avoiding datamining and premature content leaks, players can fully immerse themselves in the rich world of Hades 2 and uncover its secrets at the pace intended by the creators.
