The ABC show “Abbott Elementary” is coming back for its fourth season on October 9th. This show about teachers trying to educate students in an underfunded school is really popular. The creator of the show, Quinta Brunson, got fans excited at a big comic convention by hinting at something big happening this season.
Brunson teased that the new season will have an “interesting crossover.” A crossover is when characters from one TV show meet characters from another show. She said this could “change TV forever” but then joked we should “lower our expectations.” Naturally, people on the internet started freaking out with their theories about what show it could crossover with!
Most people think the teachers may meet up with the gang from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” This show is also set in Philadelphia and airs on a Disney channel, just like “Abbott Elementary.” Earlier this year, the creator of “Sunny” even tweeted at Brunson suggesting a crossover. Brunson seemed really into the idea! Can you picture the ridiculous Paddy’s Pub crew hanging out at Abbott Elementary? That would be wild.
Some others have thrown out weird ideas too, from competing on “Shark Tank” to meeting cartoon characters. A few suggested teaming up with another great teacher show called “The Bear.” No matter what Brunson has planned, it’s gotta be more entertaining than last year’s standardized test prep!
Beyond the crossover bombshell, the new season will dive deeper into relationships between characters like Janine and Gregory. We’ll also get more episodes this time, a total of 22! All our favorites like Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter and the rest will return too.
With how much people love “Abbott Elementary,” this mystery crossover could take the show to a whole new level of popularity. Even though Brunson is playing coy, her tease has fans super hyped to see what zany crossover lands them in next month. I know I can’t wait to see where these teachers wind up!
