Netflix’s hit legal drama “The Lincoln Lawyer” is set to release its third season on October 17. The new season will continue the story of unconventional defense lawyer Mickey Haller portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. Haller takes on a new case defending a client accused of murdering one of his former clients, a challenge that will push Haller’s skills to their limits.
Based on the Michael Connelly novel “The Gods of Guilt,” Season 3 introduces changes while maintaining continuity. All 10 episodes will premiere simultaneously, differing from previous seasons split into parts. Series co-creator and showrunner Ted Humphrey revealed the season will include flashbacks providing insight into Haller’s past. “This narrative approach deepens both the plot and characters,” Humphrey stated.
While main cast members Becki Newton and Angus Sampson return as Haller’s colleagues, fans of Neve Campbell’s character Maggie McPherson may see less of her this season. Campbell will appear primarily in flashback scenes depicting her previous relationship with Haller. New cast members Merrin Dungey as Judge Regina Turner and John Pirrucello as William Forsythe bring new personalities to the courtroom scenes.
Despite changes from the source material, including Campbell’s reduced role, the series continues evolving Haller’s legal cases and personal life across entertaining seasons. Humphrey aims to map out at least four seasons to keep viewers engaged with Haller’s evolving story. As the third season brings fresh additions, viewers will see how the modifications impact their enjoyment of this gripping Netflix drama.
