Natasha Liu, one of the talented actresses starring in the highly anticipated Ahsoka series, has recently shared exciting insights about her character, Sabine Wren. In an exclusive interview with SFX (via Games Radar), Liu discussed the intriguing storyline that unfolds between Sabine and Ahsoka Tano, portrayed by Rosario Dawson.
Set nine years after the events of Star Wars Rebels, the upcoming Disney+ series promises to reignite the fans’ passion for the Star Wars universe.
Reuniting the Ghost crew and Pursuing Grand Admiral Thrawn
In this captivating new narrative, Ahsoka embarks on a mission to reunite the disbanded Ghost crew, as they set out to track down the enigmatic Grand Admiral Thrawn. Following the liberation of Lothal, the team members went their separate ways.
However, with a looming threat menacing the New Republic, Ahsoka must rally her former allies, especially Sabine, to face this new danger head-on. Natasha Liu hinted that her character, Sabine, has undergone profound experiences that remain undisclosed to the public.
A Bond Formed through Mutual Respect
Throughout Star Wars Rebels, it becomes evident that both Sabine and Ahsoka share a profound level of respect for one another. Despite their limited on-screen interactions, the narrative implies that their stories unfold parallel to each other, with occasional overlapping missions.
Liu remarked, “I think Sabine has a great level of respect for Ahsoka, as a person to learn from. They have faced numerous trials and tribulations during their time together, some of which are known to us while others remain a mystery. Their paths converge once more, bringing with it unresolved tensions… Their reunion is bound to be incredibly captivating!”
Unveiling the Unseen Journey
Natasha Liu’s words offer a glimpse into the lives of Ahsoka and Sabine beyond the epilogue of Star Wars Rebels, indicating that their reunion in the series is not their first encounter since the days of the Phoenix Squad. Rather, it appears to be a deliberate agreement to reconcile their differences.
The recently released trailer showcases Sabine with a voice that perfectly encapsulates her current mindset, having distanced herself from the Galactic Civil War to safeguard Lothal.
However, a new mission emerges as Sabine sets out to find Ezra, while Ahsoka’s primary objective remains the pursuit of Admiral Thrawn, as witnessed in The Mandalorian. It is in this pursuit that the ambitions of both characters intertwine once again. Nonetheless, there are unresolved matters that demand attention, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the forthcoming Disney+ series to provide answers to lingering questions.
As the Ahsoka series takes us on an enthralling journey through the vast Star Wars universe, the reunion of Ahsoka and Sabine promises an exciting and captivating storyline.
Natasha Liu’s revelations have only served to pique the interest of fans, hinting at the untold tales and unresolved tensions between these beloved characters. With its premiere on the horizon, Ahsoka is set to offer an immersive experience that will captivate both dedicated Star Wars enthusiasts and new viewers alike.
