Taylor Sheridan is partnering with Paramount and Hillwood to open a 450,000-square-foot production campus in Fort Worth, a project billed as the largest studio facility in Texas and a signal that the reorganized studio intends to keep the prolific showrunner in its orbit.
The complex, operated by Sheridan’s SGS Studios on Hillwood’s 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development, is designed to host four simultaneous large-scale productions. Officials said the two-building site includes six soundstages and is already in use for the second season of Sheridan’s “Landman,” which began filming there in March.
The venture arrives days after the completion of Skydance’s takeover of Paramount and amid a statewide push to court production with richer incentives, a program lawmakers expanded this year to a reported $1.5 billion over the next decade. Supporters argue the money will help Texas compete with established hubs and diversify the economy; Sheridan has long filmed across the state, drawing crews, vendors and tourism tied to his series.
Backers framed the studio as both an economic engine and a creative anchor. “We are at a pivotal moment where Texas can become a global force in the film industry, and North Texas offers the location and resources to play a central role in this development,” said Hillwood president Mike Berry. Sheridan added, “SGS Studios isn’t just about sound stages or incentives—it’s about reclaiming the independence and grit that built this industry in the first place.”
Project materials say the site has received Media Production Development Zone designation from city and state authorities and is paired with workforce programs through Tarrant County College; more than 150 trainees have completed courses in set operations and related crafts, with plans to double that figure. Paramount executives said the campus will support thousands of jobs as more series relocate or expand in Texas.
Sheridan’s output remains a key pillar for the company, and the Fort Worth campus is expected to serve as a home base for titles already shooting in North Texas, with further expansion envisioned across the AllianceTexas footprint.
