Neve Campbell may not have appeared in Scream 6 due to a salary dispute, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t supportive of the film. In fact, according to her co-star Skeet Ulrich, Campbell is thrilled with the work that has been done on the latest installment of the popular horror franchise.
While the rest of the original cast returned for Scream 5, Campbell decided not to participate, feeling that she was not going to be compensated adequately for her work. Despite this, her absence does not diminish her enthusiasm for the series.
Ulrich, who plays Billy Loomis in the franchise, recently revealed in an interview with People that he had spoken with Campbell at a convention and that she “loves everything we’ve done.” He went on to describe her as a “businesswoman” who takes her work seriously, but emphasized that the entire cast supports her decision.
As the ultimate “final girl” in the Scream franchise, Campbell’s absence is certainly felt, but that doesn’t mean her character, Sidney Prescott, won’t make an appearance in future films. In fact, fans who saw Scream 5 know that Prescott is still alive and kicking, leaving the door open for her return in a future installment.
It’s clear that Campbell’s legacy in the Scream franchise remains strong, even if she didn’t participate in the latest sequel. Her portrayal of Sidney Prescott has become an iconic part of horror movie history, and fans will undoubtedly continue to clamor for her return in future films.
Whether or not Campbell ultimately decides to reprise her role as Prescott, one thing is for sure: her support for the Scream franchise remains as strong as ever.
