In a recent update to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, Call of Duty introduced a comprehensive overhaul of weapon balancing as part of The Haunting event, making significant adjustments to various firearms.

The update, effective from October 23, encompasses changes that cater to both multiplayer modes and Warzone. Here’s a detailed look at the alterations that have been made.

Submachine Guns

Among the submachine guns, the MiniBak sees a reduction in close-range damage range and damage amount. The Vasznev-9k experiences similar changes to close-range damage range.

Conversely, the Lachmann Shroud has its mid and far damage range reduced, while the ISO 9 witnesses a decrease in far damage range. On the brighter side, the PDSW 528’s mid damage range has been increased, along with the Fennec and BAS-P, both of which now have an increased mid-damage range.

Assault Rifles

For assault rifles, the TR-76 Geist endures a cut to its close damage range and a reduction in close-range damage amount, coupled with decreased damage to arm, leg, and torso locations.

However, the patch notes mention a noteworthy increase in long-range damage. The Kastov 762 and M4 assault rifles, on the other hand, received an increase in close-range damage.

Shotguns

Two formidable shotguns, the Lockwood 300 and Bryson 900, have received a substantial nerf. This adjustment applies to the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment, 12 gauge ammo, and Dragon’s Breath rounds for the Lockwood 300 and the 12 gauge ammo and Dragon’s Breath rounds for the Bryson 900.

In contrast, the Expedite 12’s close-mid damage range has been increased, and the KV Broadside’s 12 Gauge ammunition has witnessed an expansion in its close damage range, albeit with a reduction in Dragon’s Breath ammunition damage range.

Warzone Changes

In Warzone, the Kastov 762 and TR-76 Geist assault rifles now face a decrease in close-mid damage, head damage multiplier, neck damage multiplier, and upper torso damage multiplier for the Kastov 762.

The TR-76 Geist, however, experiences a reduction in close damage, close-mid damage, mid damage, head damage multiplier, and limb damage multipliers. The M13B also suffers from decreased close damage, and the M4 benefits from an increase in close-mid damage range.

Bug Fixes

The update comes with various bug fixes for The Haunting event, resolving issues such as splitscreen functionality, crashes when starting The Haunting content from the co-op mission lobby, and problems with Soul counters displaying incorrect values.

The patch also addresses an issue where players could get stuck under the ship near Sawah Village in the nighttime version of Al Mazrah.

The Haunting event is now live in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone and is set to run until November 6, providing players with a hauntingly exciting gaming experience.

The latest Call of Duty update introduces a significant weapon balancing overhaul to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. The changes affect submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, and more, with the aim of providing a more balanced and competitive gaming experience for players.

In addition to these weapon adjustments, the update includes bug fixes for The Haunting event, enhancing the overall gameplay. The event is currently active and will continue to haunt players until November 6.
