Via the official PlayStation blog, Sony has announced the release of a new system patch for PlayStation 5. This console, in a classic way, has received a few minor fixes, however, this time we have something more than the classic “bug fixes.” Eventually, the company delivered on its earlier promise.
Included in the update are some much-desired features such as 1440p HDMI video output and game listings, and social features such as the option to request a screen share from another party member, to easily view new friends’ profiles and receive notifications to quickly join a friend’s game from the party chat. – we read on the company’s blog post.
The 1440p HDMI support was eagerly awaited by many gamers, so they may finally feel heard. The addition of game lists is a very nice feature. Additionally, there are a lot of new highlights for those who use mobile apps. Using them now should be much easier.
Lots of new features in update 22.02-06.00.00.42 for PS5
You can now start a PS Remote Play session directly from the relevant app. We need the PS App and the PS Remote Play app, a smartphone and the PS5 in sleep mode to do that.
Additionally, we can ask a friend through the mobile tool to share the game screen with us. In this way, we will be able to stay in touch with them at all times.
The company speaks more specifically about the news in a separate post. We read there about a new option to create up to 15 game lists with up to 100 games each. You can name them yourself and manage them according to your preferences.
Among other enhancements – we got a screen where we can compare stereo and 3D sound and select the right one. Added to all this, we have, among other things, the possibility to send stickers and voice messages in the Game Base tab, the new notifications from friends with the possibility to join the game and easier access to in-game activities.
This patch requires a total of 1.086 GB of free space. Not a particularly small amount, but considering the number of new features – it’s definitely worth it.
