XSEED Games and Marvelous have unveiled new gameplay footage for Loop8: Summer of Gods, an upcoming JRPG set to release on June 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The video showcases the protagonist, Nini, and her first boss encounter, giving fans a glimpse into the game’s mechanics and setting.
Loop8: Summer of Gods is a teen story set in rural Japan in the 1980s, promising a unique gameplay experience where decisions can change the course of the game’s world.
As Nini, players will take charge of her life as a young newcomer in Ashihara village in August 1983, exploring the village and building relationships with its inhabitants. Turn-based fights against kegai will depend on these relationships and the decisions made throughout the game.
The game’s story follows Nini’s special connection to the gods, allowing her to relive the eighth month over and over again until a solution is found or until the kegai overpower her.
Marvelous poses the question, “If there was only one month left until the end of the world, how would you spend each day?”
Marvelous promises a unique gameplay experience with Loop8’s artificial intelligence system based on emotions. The characters’ feelings and history will vary greatly depending on players’ choices, providing a truly personalized experience.
As the fate of Ashihara rests in players’ hands, they will need to return to the start of August repeatedly, making different choices and witnessing the game’s multiple endings.
Experience the time-looped story of Loop8: Summer of Gods when it launches on consoles and PC on June 6.
