Marvel enthusiasts are in for a treat as the latest installment from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Secret Invasion,” unravels a gripping, slow-burn Cold War-style espionage thriller. The show takes a closer look at the Skrulls, shedding light on their extensive collaboration with the Avengers and the enigmatic Nick Fury behind the scenes.

A Flashback to Intrigue: Nick Fury and Varra’s Meeting

Episode 3 commences with a captivating flashback to a clandestine meeting in 1998 between Nick Fury (portrayed by the indomitable Samuel L. Jackson) and Varra (played by the talented Charlayne Woodard). In this pivotal moment, Varra discreetly passes a crucial piece of paper to Fury, uttering the words, “This should put Dreykov’s men on their heels.”

Dreykov, the formidable overseer of the Red Room and controller of the Black Widows, has long posed a threat to our heroes. Spanning across multiple timelines, the majority of the story unfolds in 2016, shedding light on the arduous journey to bring him down.

Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, found herself ensnared in Dreykov’s web, intended to be a pawn in his quest for ultimate power. However, in an exhilarating turn of events – spoiler alert – Natasha prevailed, overpowering her adversary.

The revelation that the Skrulls played a vital role in Natasha’s recruitment has left fans astounded. Echoing their sentiments, one fan took to Twitter, exclaiming, “Actually mad how this is confirmation that the Skrulls were instrumental in Natasha’s recruitment, and then Talos implied they helped with more of the Avengers.” Another fan shared their astonishment, tweeting, “Literally now it makes sense how Fury had ‘eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else.'”

Considering Dreykov’s history as a formidable menace to Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., it comes as no surprise that the Skrulls provided valuable intelligence on him. Their involvement adds a new layer of intrigue to the complex web of relationships in the Marvel Universe.

Don’t miss out on the captivating twists and turns of “Secret Invasion” as new episodes air every Wednesday exclusively on Disney Plus. Immerse yourself in this riveting saga that unveils the hidden secrets of the Skrulls and their intricate alliances with Nick Fury and the Avengers.
