In an impressive feat, Starfield has welcomed over a million players across all gaming platforms within just one day of its full release.
The news was proudly announced by Xbox head honcho, Phil Spencer, who took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to all the players who helped us reach this great milestone, and congrats to Bethesda Studios.”
Starfield had already embarked on an impressive journey last week when it launched in early access for those who had purchased the premium edition. As we previously reported, within the first day of early access, the game reached a peak of 234,502 concurrent players on Steam.
A Growing Steam Presence
Starfield exceeded 1 million concurrent players across all platforms today. Thanks to all the players who helped us reach this great milestone and congrats to the @BethesdaStudios https://t.co/5jFaCyPz4G

Now, with the game’s full release, that Steam peak has risen to 269,177 (thanks to SteamDB). This suggests that most of the remaining concurrent players are enjoying the game on Xbox consoles.
While it remains uncertain whether Starfield has set any records for peak concurrent players on Xbox, including Game Pass, it’s evident that Microsoft is delighted with the results achieved thus far.
