Data miners have discovered references to crossplay functionality between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms within the alpha’s game files. Furthermore, the developers have added Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store item IDs for in-game currency purchases, strongly implying plans for console releases.
While NetEase has remained tight-lipped about potential console versions, this mounting evidence from the alpha files appears to confirm Marvel Rivals’ impending arrival on Sony and Microsoft’s latest gaming hardware.
The revelation comes as reliable leaker Miller hints at a possible console announcement during the upcoming Summer Game Fest event next month. NetEase has already stated their intentions to “explore potential releases on other platforms” beyond the game’s initial Steam launch.
Featuring beloved Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, and Doctor Strange, Marvel Rivals promises a team-based 6v6 superhero combat experience akin to Blizzard’s Overwatch 2. The free-to-play title has already garnered significant attention from fans eager to wield the powers of their favorite heroes and villains.
