Fans of Tony Stark, the billionaire superhero also known as Iron Man, will have the chance to experience his genius firsthand in a new theme park attraction coming to Disneyland. At a recent Disney event, plans were announced to bring Robert Downey Jr. back to his iconic role of Stark for Stark Flight Lab, one of two new Marvel-themed rides being added to Disneyland’s Avengers Campus.
According to Disney, this new ride will have guests boarding two-person pods that are taken by robot arms on a simulated flight experience within Stark’s high-tech workshop. Riders will get a sense of what it’s like to test out one of Stark’s innovative flying machines. While no opening date has been given yet, construction on the attraction is scheduled to start next year.

Disney also revealed details on a second new ride called Avengers Infinity Defense. On this mission, guests will travel to different Marvel locations like those seen in popular comic books and movies to help defend against King Thanos, a variant of the villain known for his quest for power. The introduction of this new take on the villain hints that the rides may tie into future Marvel storylines.
