YouTube TV and Paramount Global have secured a multi-year agreement, ensuring uninterrupted access to 23 channels that include CBS, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and several others. The deal, announced on Saturday, will also see the addition of Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and BET+ to YouTube TV’s offerings, giving subscribers expanded viewing options.
The renewal was confirmed just before the previous contract was set to expire, following a brief short-term extension that prevented a potential blackout. A YouTube TV representative noted that the agreement would allow the service to maintain its lineup of more than 100 channels, while also offering future choices to subscribers. Paramount echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the continuation of its longstanding partnership with the streaming provider.
The agreement comes at a critical time for both parties. YouTube TV has grown rapidly in the U.S., now serving over eight million subscribers, while Paramount is gearing up for key programming events. Upcoming broadcasts include CBS’s daytime drama “Beyond the Gates,” high-profile sporting events like The Masters and March Madness, and a slate of popular shows that continue to draw significant audiences.
The new deal provides stability amid an industry marked by frequent carriage disputes, especially in an era when traditional cable and streaming platforms compete for viewers. With major live events and award shows on the horizon, the renewal promises to keep viewers connected to a range of popular content and maintain Paramount’s influential presence in the pay-TV market.
