Director Uwe Boll has launched production on his latest film, a vigilante drama tentatively titled “The Dark Knight,” currently shooting in Zagreb, Croatia. The movie stars Armie Hammer as Sanders, a justice-seeking protagonist who operates outside traditional legal boundaries.
Actor Costas Mandylor has joined the cast as Henry, an Interpol officer tasked with tracking down Hammer’s character. This casting sets up a potentially intense narrative dynamic between a vigilante and the law enforcement officer pursuing him.
“We’re very happy to add Costas Mandylor to our cast,” Boll said. “To see him acting opposite Armie Hammer is truly a pleasure.” The film reunites Mandylor with Boll after their recent collaboration on “Run,” which is currently seeking U.S. distribution.
Executive producer Michael Roesch praised Mandylor’s involvement, stating, “We already enjoyed working with Costas on our last movie and couldn’t be happier to have him back. His vibrant performance adds so much to the movie.”
Post-production work has already begun at Tunnel Post in Santa Monica, with editor Ethan Maniquis handling the initial cut. The project is also expanding into the gaming world, with Polygon Art developing a video game adaptation.
This announcement follows the success of Boll and Roesch’s previous film “First Shift,” which has maintained a strong presence on Paramount+’s Top 5 rankings. Mandylor brings additional credibility to the project with recent credits including “Gunslingers” with Nicolas Cage and “The Aegean.”
The film represents another venture for Boll in the action genre, continuing his reputation for dynamic, high-intensity storytelling that bridges cinema and interactive media.
