Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes will open in cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland on Nov. 20, A24 announced.

A24 is releasing “You Can See Everything” itself in both territories. The film arrives five weeks after its U.S. debut on Oct. 16 and follows a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival on Sept. 6, where it drew rave reviews and early Oscar speculation. It later played the New York Film Festival.

The documentary records Holmes’ life about a month before she began an 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors. A24’s official description puts the starting point at 34 days before she reported. Her partner, Billy Evans, appears throughout. Fielder, known for “Nathan for You,” “The Rehearsal” and “The Curse,” appears on camera, and “The Dropout” star Amanda Seyfried also takes part. The three-hour film marks Fielder’s feature directorial debut.

At a Q&A in New York, Fielder explained how he came to co-direct with Oppenheim, who premiered his first narrative feature, “Primetime,” starring Robert Pattinson, at the Venice Film Festival this fall. Fielder, speaking after Telluride, said he still struggles to understand what he experienced while making the film. Online fans have praised the effect of seeing the usually character-driven comic act without a mask, with one remarking that Fielder comes across as an ordinary man.

The announcement answers a question that dogged the film’s launch. When the trailer appeared, British commentators noted that no release plans existed for the U.K. Several outlets reported that the film was shot in secret, a fact that adds to its mystique.

U.S. exhibitors have responded warmly. Alamo Drafthouse reported that advance sales rank second at the chain, behind only “Avengers: Doomsday.” Holmes remains incarcerated and has not seen the finished film, according to the directors.
