Over the past weekend, video game fans gathered at PAX West, a big gaming convention. Among the exciting events, the creators of Final Fantasy XVI and localization director Christopher-Michael Koji Fox took the stage to talk about the game.

They shared details about the characters, the world of Valisthea, and more. But before diving into these details, FFXVI producer Naoki Yoshida had some thrilling news to share through a video message.

Free Update Available Now

First off, he revealed that a fantastic free update for Final Fantasy XVI is ready for you to download right now. This update brings some cool stuff to the game, like different outfits for main characters Clive, Jill, and Torgal.

There’s also a nifty feature called “transmog” for weapons, which lets you change how Clive’s sword looks while keeping the power of your current weapon.

But that’s not all! Patch 1.10 is also on the horizon, and it’s bringing some quality-of-life improvements. You can expect changes like tweaks to Arcade Mode, new controller setups, extra settings in the System menu, and fixes for various in-game issues.

Exciting DLC Announcements

Final Fantasy XVI

The surprises didn’t stop there. Yoshida had more exciting news to share. He mentioned that there are not one but two paid DLCs in the works for FFXVI. Yoshida explained, “We’ve been listening to the thoughts and feelings of our amazing Final Fantasy XVI community. One thing that stood out was their desire to dive deeper into Valisthea’s story and spend more time with its characters. So, our development team is already working on two DLCs that you can purchase.”

While Yoshida didn’t give us a release date for these DLCs, he did reveal that they’re making a version of FFXVI for PCs. He’s looking forward to telling us more about the PC version and the DLCs’ progress before the year’s end.

So, Final Fantasy XVI fans have a lot to look forward to, with the free update available right away and exciting paid DLCs and a PC version on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates as they come!
