The acclaimed filmmaker James Mangold is taking the helm for the upcoming “Swamp Thing” movie, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
This news is sure to excite fans who have long admired Mangold’s works, especially his successful comic book adaptation “Logan: Wolverine” and the Oscar-winning “Le Mans ’66”. Currently, the filmmaker is in negotiations with the studio to finalize the details of the contract.

Sources close to the portal reveal that Mangold is a huge fan of the Swamp Thing character and its comic book origins. He approached James Gunn and Peter Safran with his ideas for the film. After completing the biopic about Bob Dylan, Mangold is expected to take on this project following the release of “Indiana Jones 5”.
The Swamp Thing was first introduced to the comic book world by Len Wein, with illustrations by Bernie Wrightson. He made his debut in 1971 in “House of Secrets” issue 92. In the 1980s, Alan Moore elevated the character to new heights with his comic strip.
In 1982, “Swamp Thing” was adapted into a movie, directed by the legendary Wes Craven. Later, there was also a live-action series, although it didn’t have a long run.
