Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind the popular game Death Stranding, will play a “heavily involved” role in the development of the upcoming film adaptation.

While he won’t be taking on the directorial responsibilities this time, Kojima’s participation in various departments ensures his creative influence will be felt throughout the project.

Kojima’s Passion for Film

Just to be clear, I am deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design and content of the film adaptation of DS, just not in charge of directing.

— HIDEO_KOJIMA (@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN) June 18, 2023

Kojima has been vocal about his deep love for movies, with his Twitter bio stating, “Playmaker: 70% of my body is made of movies.”
