Street Fighter 6, the letter of apology to fans who were disappointed with its predecessor in 2016, continues to demonstrate its resilience as the most sought-after fighting game on Steam.

Over a month since its official release, the game’s community remains vibrant and engaged, even surpassing renowned franchises such as Mortal Kombat and TEKKEN in popularity.

A Resilient Community on Steam

Since its highly anticipated debut in early June, the Capcom title has been making history. Street Fighter 6 achieved the highest number of simultaneous players on Steam for a conventional fighting game, second only to the free-to-play MultiVersus. While it has experienced a decline in its user base since then, it still maintains a robust and active community on PC.

As of the latest data from SteamCharts, Street Fighter 6 boasts an impressive player count of 17,213 individuals currently enjoying the game on PC. Additionally, within the last 24 hours, the game reached a peak of 34,398 concurrent users online.

Dominating the Fighting Game Scene

Street Fighter 6’s active user base on Steam far surpasses that of its competitors. In the last 30 days, Mortal Kombat 11 reached a peak of 7,808 concurrent players, while TEKKEN 7 closely followed with a maximum of 6,507 users playing simultaneously during the same period.

The release of Street Fighter 6 led to a significant shift in player preferences, as fans turned away from Street Fighter V, which saw a peak of only 886 concurrent players over the past month. Street Fighter 6’s success has solidified its position as the top fighting game on PC.

Unparalleled Success and Growth

While the statistics provide a glimpse into the popularity of Street Fighter 6 on Steam, its success story may differ on consoles, as concurrent player data for PlayStation and Xbox ecosystems is not available. However, Capcom recently confirmed that the game has already surpassed 2 million copies sold, a testament to its widespread appeal.

The fighting game genre as a whole is experiencing a renaissance, with notable titles like Guilty Gear -Strive-, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Street Fighter 6 breaking records for their respective franchises at EVO 2023, the highly anticipated competitive event scheduled for early August.

Street Fighter 6 has captivated players and surpassed expectations, maintaining a strong presence as the preferred fighting game on PC. As the game’s community continues to thrive, players eagerly share their experiences and opinions.
