EVO, a highly anticipated event for the fighting game community akin to Christmas, has been a platform for numerous thrilling announcements that have sparked player enthusiasm.

One such surprise came on August 5, when it was revealed that Killer Instinct would be graced with an update to commemorate its 10th anniversary. The news was shared by fighting game player and YouTuber Maximilian Dood and the head of Killer Instinct, James Goddard, after an intense exhibition match, leaving fans eager for more details.

What to Expect in the Update

In an official tweet, the Killer Instinct team expressed their excitement about the upcoming update: “Our friends Iron Galaxy are back! And together, we’re bringing you Killer Instinct’s free 10th Anniversary Update later this year – including a balance update, improved matchmaking, and 4K support for Series X|S.

More info coming soon!” Though specific details were not divulged, players are thrilled at the prospect of improvements and enhancements to their beloved game.

A Major Upgrade in Store

James Goddard shed some light on the update, revealing that a significant balance update is in the works. Additionally, the team is working on major upgrades to all PlayFab services, promising smoother matchmaking and improved tournament experiences.
