In an electrifying update that bridges the worlds of boxing and professional wrestling, the legendary Muhammad Ali is set to make an unprecedented appearance in the upcoming WWE 2K24 video game.

Scheduled for release on March 8, this addition has stirred excitement among fans, marking a significant moment as it brings together one of the greatest boxers of all time with the high-octane universe of WWE.

A Legendary Addition

Muhammad Ali, known for his charismatic presence both inside and outside the ring, will join an expansive roster of over 200 WWE Superstars in the latest installment of the sports entertainment franchise.

Ali’s inclusion is particularly noteworthy, given his limited but memorable interactions with WWE programming in the past. His moveset in the game, as hinted in a recent trailer, is expected to focus on his iconic punching style, paying homage to his boxing roots.

Ali’s history with WWE is highlighted by two key appearances that left an indelible mark on the wrestling world. His most famous involvement came as a guest referee during the main event of the first WrestleMania 40 years ago, a spectacle that saw him engaging physically to maintain order, including throwing punches at “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Additionally, Ali once stepped into the ring with wrestler Gorilla Monsoon, showcasing his fighting spirit against Monsoon’s wrestling skills in an unforgettable exhibition of cross-discipline competition.

Celebrating 40 Years of WrestleMania

WWE 2K24’s decision to feature Muhammad Ali is not just a nod to his global stature as a boxing icon but also an acknowledgment of his unique contributions to WrestleMania’s storied history. As the game looks to commemorate 40 years of WrestleMania, including Ali becomes a fitting tribute to the event’s legacy and his role in its inception.

The roster for WWE 2K24 is shaping up to be a diverse and star-studded lineup, with confirmed appearances by wrestling legends such as Cody Rhodes, Andre The Giant, Chyna, Hulk Hogan, and Kevin Nash.

The inclusion of these athletes, alongside Ali, promises a rich and varied gameplay experience for fans. However, the final roster remains subject to change, with the participation of figures like Brock Lesnar uncertain due to recent developments affecting his representation in WWE-affiliated titles.
