As Marvel Studios gears up for its highly anticipated “Fantastic Four” reboot, actor Ralph Ineson, set to portray the iconic villain Galactus, has shared his enthusiasm for the project and his hopes for a long-term role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In a recent interview with The Movie Dweeb, Ineson offered insights into his experience with the film’s script and his preparation for the role. “I loved it when I got the part and I read the script, and I was like, that’s cool as fck,” Ineson said. He added, “Now the more I’ve understood about the universe and the way it all fits together, I’m like yeah, that’s really cool as fck.”
Ineson, known for his roles in “The First Omen” and “Nosferatu,” admitted to being relatively unfamiliar with Marvel lore prior to landing the part. “I’m not someone who knows the whole lore of Marvel,” he confessed. However, he’s been catching up with help from his son, whom he described as an expert on the franchise.
The actor’s excitement for the role is palpable. “I’m just happy to be a part of this absolutely insane, huge world. It’s Galactus, man,” Ineson enthused. “There’s a lot to be excited about.”
When asked about the possibility of portraying Galactus in multiple MCU projects, Ineson expressed optimism. “Yeah, because that would mean that the films are successful. That’s kind of what we’re in here for, you know,” he stated. “So yeah, that would be an ideal outcome for everybody involved, but obviously especially for me.”
“The Fantastic Four” marks a crucial point for the MCU, tasked with reinvigorating audience interest following a challenging 2023 and finally delivering a successful adaptation of Marvel’s first family. Previous attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen have met with mixed results, making this reboot particularly significant.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. Julia Garner has also joined the cast as a female version of the Silver Surfer. The project is helmed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on the critically acclaimed MCU series “WandaVision.”
