Apple TV+ is set to bolster its reputation as a powerhouse in original content with an extensive lineup of new and returning shows for 2024 and beyond. The summer of 2024 will see a flurry of new releases, starting with “Sunny” on July 10. This intriguing series stars Rashida Jones as an American ex-pat in Japan who forms an unlikely bond with a robot while searching for answers about her missing family. Just two days later, on July 12, “Me” premieres, offering a fresh take on the superhero genre with a coming-of-age twist.
July 19 brings a double feature with “Lady in the Lake,” starring Natalie Portman as an aspiring journalist in 1960s Baltimore, and “Omnivore,” a culinary docuseries hosted by renowned chef René Redzepi. The month rounds out with “Time Bandits” on July 24, a reimagining of Terry Gilliam’s classic film, and “Women in Blue,” a Mexican crime drama, on July 31.
August sees the launch of “Yo Gabba GabbaLand” on the 9th, a continuation of the beloved children’s series, followed by “Bad Monkey” on the 14th, a crime comedy from “Ted Lasso” creator Bill Lawrence. The month concludes with the return of the critically acclaimed “Pachinko” for its second season on August 23.
Fall brings more anticipated premieres, including the fourth season of “Slow Horses” on September 4, the French drama “La Maison” on September 20, and Alfonso Cuarón’s “Disclaimer,” starring Cate Blanchett, on October 11.
Looking further ahead, Apple TV+ has announced renewals for fan favorites like “The Morning Show,” “Severance,” “Foundation,” and “Mythic Quest.” New series in development include “Chief of War” starring Jason Momoa, “Firebug” with Taron Egerton, and “The Savant” featuring Jessica Chastain.
