The first trailer for the upcoming film “Goodrich” gives viewers a glimpse at the story of a father reconnecting with his adult daughter. Starring Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis, “Goodrich” centers on Andy Goodrich, played by Keaton, whose life is upended when his wife enters rehab, leaving him to care for their young twins alone. Overwhelmed, Andy turns to his daughter Grace, played by Kunis, for help despite their strained past relationship.

The trailer highlights the age difference between Andy and Grace. “I am 27 years older than you, which is basically unheard of for siblings… except maybe in LA,” Kunis’s character Grace jokes to Andy’s twin children. This line sets the tone for a story that blends humor with emotional depth in exploring family dynamics. As a single father struggling with work and parenting, Andy must face his failures as Grace’s father in the past. Meanwhile, Grace deals with her own pregnancy and complicated feelings toward Andy while helping with her half-siblings.

Directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, “Goodrich” features an all-star supporting cast including Andie MacDowell, Carmen Ejogo, Laura Benanti, Michael Urie, Kevin Pollak, Vivien Lyra Blair, Nico Hiraga, and Danny Deferrari. Known for family-focused stories, Meyers-Shyer seeks to delve into themes of absent fatherhood and redemption through Andy and Grace’s relationship. With its examination of modern parenting challenges and multigenerational bonds, “Goodrich” aims to entertain audiences while prompting reflection on family relationships and change.

Following festivals and early praise, “Goodrich” is slated for nationwide release on October 18. Audiences can expect an emotional drama with comedic moments, fueled by the on-screen chemistry between veterans Keaton and Kunis in these complex leading roles.
