Amazon’s Prime Video will expand the hit “Reacher” universe with a new spinoff show focused on a popular character from the original series. The untitled show, which is currently in early development, will center around Frances Neagley.
Neagley was introduced in season one of “Reacher” as a former co-worker and security consultant to the titular character. Played by Maria Sten, Neagley proved popular among fans. Her likable personality and skills in the field of security have prompted Prime Video to move forward with this new program, tentatively called “Neagley.”
The spinoff will be led by the same creative team behind “Reacher.” Nick Santora, who serves as executive producer and showrunner of the original series, will work alongside Nicholas Wootton to develop and oversee the new show. Santora and Wootton previously collaborated on the AMC series “Prison Break.”
According to sources, Alan Ritchson may guest star in “Neagley” reprising his role as Jack Reacher. This crossover connection suggests the spinoff will remain tied to the established “Reacher” world while developing its own unique narrative.
The programs will both be produced through the joint efforts of Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television alongside CBS Studios. “Reacher” novelist Lee Child and executives Don Granger and Lisa Kussner will also be involved in the Neagley project. Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell are set to executive produce.
This expansion comes after “Reacher’s” continued popularity. The series, adapted from Child’s bestselling books, has already been greenlit for a third season set to premiere in 2025. While Neagley does not appear in the upcoming season’s source material, the character has been added to the show, underscoring her evolving significance within the franchise.
Viewers can expect the same compelling action and faithful adaptation that made “Reacher” a hit when the Neagley spinoff enters production. Details regarding its plot and release date are still forthcoming.
