The primary cast of the renowned supernatural drama “The Vampire Diaries” recently reunited in a touching reunion, bringing back happy memories for series fans. The event occurred at the “I Was Feeling Festive 2” convention in Covington, Georgia, with Nina Dobrev, Candice King, and Kat Graham—who played Elena Gilbert, Caroline Forbes, and Bonnie Bennett—as the highlights.
The trio played up their close friendship by posting a humorous Instagram video set to Simple Plan’s “I’m Just a Kid,” creating a nostalgic snapshot from their time on the show. “We’re still just kids,” they captioned the image, reflecting on their friendship.
Although Dobrev left the series at the end of season six, she made a special appearance in the finale, underlining her vital role in the story. The drama aired from 2009 to 2017 and centered on Elena’s intense love triangle with vampire siblings Stefan and Damon Salvatore, leaving an audience impact.
The reunion included more than just the three leading females. Other cast members, such as Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Michael Malarkey, Arielle Kebbel, and Zach Roerig, were also present, giving fans a thorough celebration of the show’s legacy.
Earlier this year, showrunner Julie Plec pondered on the series’ impact, speaking with co-creator Kevin Williamson. “We wanted to tell an emotional story that was sexy, romantic, and scary,” Plec explained to The Hollywood Reporter. She intended to create something “timeless” that appealed to viewers of all ages.
This reunion commemorates the show’s past and demonstrates its continued appeal, resulting in a thriving franchise, including spin-offs such as “The Originals” and “Legacies.”
