Back in April 2021, Neil Druckmann disclosed that he had created a plot outline for The Last of Us 3, however the studio had no way to proceed to the active production stage of the new installment.

Things may have changed a lot since then – apparently, according to the latest rumor, the developers on the PlayStation team have restarted the development of the story set in a world that has been devastated by Cerebral Palsy.

Several weeks ago The Last of Us Part 1 arrived on PS5, while in March the PC gamers will get acquainted with the refreshed title.

Meanwhile, Season 1 of The Last of Us series will begin airing on HBO and HBO Max, while network competition enthusiasts are already waiting for concrete news and the presentation of Faction, the standalone multiplayer production.

Naughty Dog has had at least one other project in development for several years, which it hasn’t shared with the general public. Recent reports suggest that Neil Druckmann already began work on The Last of Us Part III.

The uncommon news was provided by ViewerAnon, an insider with ties to the film industry, who has previously shared many details about The Last of Us from HBO and was first to report on the formation of Crash Bandicoot 4. Recently, the insider sought access (screener) for the station’s production and alluded to the topic of TLoU 3:

Can this guy be believed? We must treat these types of reports with a pinch of salt, however, it is worth recalling that in the past ViewerAnon shared information that was later confirmed by development teams or film and series creators.

There’s no doubt that the creation of The Last of Us Part III seems like a most understandable move. In view of the great outcome of The Last of Us Part II, the impending release of The Last of Us Part I on another platform and the premiere of the TV series, this brand deserves a continuation. Realizing a third game would surely fuel interest in the entire universe.
