The Night Manager’s second season is shaping up to be a star-studded affair, with the latest addition of Diego Calva further elevating the anticipation surrounding the revival of the critically acclaimed spy thriller series.

Following the recent announcement of Daisy Jones & The Six star Camila Morrone joining the cast, a new report from Deadline reveals that Babylon breakout Diego Calva has also landed a major role in The Night Manager Season 2. Alongside Tom Hiddleston, who reprises his lead role as Jonathan Pine, Calva’s casting solidifies the ensemble’s impressive pedigree.

While character details for both Morrone and Calva remain tightly under wraps, it is unclear whether Calva will be portraying an entirely new character or taking on a recast role from the show’s acclaimed first season in 2016.

Calva’s inclusion in The Night Manager Season 2 marks another significant milestone in the rising star’s burgeoning career. Following his breakout performance in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, where he starred alongside heavyweights like Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, Calva has quickly established himself as a formidable talent to watch.

Beyond his work on the big screen, Calva has also showcased his versatility in projects like the Bird Box spin-off Barcelona and a supporting role in the hit series Narcos: Mexico. With a wealth of experience both in front of and behind the camera, the 32-year-old actor brings a unique perspective and depth to his craft.

While general plot details for The Night Manager Season 2 remain under wraps, fans can rest assured that the series aims to retain the charm and intrigue that captivated audiences in its first season. Original creator David Farr returns as the scribe, while Georgi Banks-Davies, fresh off her BAFTA-winning directorial work on I Hate Suzie, takes the helm as the director.

The Night Manager Season 2 is expected to begin production later this year, with a targeted release in 2025. As the anticipation builds, the ensemble’s stellar cast, including Hiddleston, Morrone, and now Calva, promises to deliver a riveting and high-stakes espionage thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

With his undeniable talent and rising star power, Diego Calva’s addition to The Night Manager Season 2 marks another exciting chapter in his blossoming career, further solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
