NBC is giving the green light to a new TV show called “Suits: L.A.“, which is a spin-off of the popular lawyer drama “Suits”. We got our first look at Stephen Amell starring in the series as Ted Black, a prosecutor who moved from New York City to take on the high-pressure legal world in Los Angeles.
The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, who also made “Suits”, will show us what happens as Ted tries to keep his law firm from going under. Ted has “reinvented himself” representing rich clients in L.A., but now has to take on a role he never wanted to save the firm.
Amell, known for playing the Arrow on TV, shared the first pic of Ted at his desk on social media. He captioned it “Ted Black will see you now,” giving us a feel for Ted’s serious lawyer vibe. The cast also includes Bryan Greenberg, John Amos, Victoria Justice, Josh McDermitt and Lex Scott Davis.
No date has been set yet, but insiders say “Suits: L.A.” could start late 2024 or during the 2025-2026 TV season. It will dive into the characters’ personal and work lives. Apparently, something in Ted’s past made him leave New York in the first place. Viewers can expect to see friendships and relationships form between these attorneys juggling high-pressure jobs.
This spin-off comes as “Suits” has gotten more popular streaming on Netflix and Peacock. The 2019 finale led some original actors to reunite at the 2024 Golden Globes. Meghan Markle, who left in 2017, said at an event how “good shows live on.” Fans both new and old will be excited to see how this fresh take on law dramas turns out with its talented cast and crew supporting it on a major network. “Suits: L.A.” looks ready to be one of the top new shows!
