Through his Discord channel, The Snitch has revealed the development of another game. Most likely, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is going to see a release outside of the Land of the Cherry Blossom after over 14 years.
An official announcement of the port of the fourth installment of the acclaimed series should come at the upcoming Nintendo Direct – which according to rumors will take place this week.
Koei Tecmo launched a port of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water for PC and PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles last year.
Until 2021, the fifth installment in the series was a Wii U exclusive game. The company is apparently satisfied with the sales results, as it has decided to prepare a re-release of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse for Nintendo Switch, reported The Snitch.
Originally released in 2008, the fourth installment made its debut in 2008 and was actually never released outside of Japan, with Western gamers only able to play it through a fan translation.
According to The Snitch’s picture news, a refurbished version of Fatal Frame 4 for Nintendo Switch is imminent. It is the second – after It Takes Two for Nintendo Switch – insider leak for which we are still waiting for confirmation.
Both announcements can be expected at September’s Nintendo Direct. The event should take place as early as tomorrow, according to rumors.
