In a short video, the host of Summer Games Fest and The Game Awards spoke about the forthcoming Gamescom 2022, which opens its doors with the Opening Night Live broadcast on August 23.

Therefore, Geoff Keighley said he is very excited to host this event in person and watch the reaction of the fans in person. Of course, he also seized the opportunity to announce that during the gala there will be some major game announcements and news, along with some big reveals.

He unfortunately didn’t go into details, so we will have to wait to find out what he’s referring to.

In one month!@gamescom Opening Night Live streams Tuesday, August 23!

We are LIVE from Kolenmesse in Cologne, Germany with thousands of fans for a night of game announcements, world premieres and more on a huge stage!

Which Companies Are Attending 2022 Gamescom?

While the presenter did not reveal any more information about the games that we will see at the event, we are only left to speculate. Naturally, it is important to consider the companies that will have some involvement to temper our expectations and know what to expect in order to avoid disappointment.

We should remember that Nintendo, PlayStation, Activision-Blizzard and Take Two Interactive will be absent from the European fair, which means that we will not have to expect revelations and news from these companies. Other companies, fortunately, have confirmed their presence.

In particular, THQ Nordic, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, SEGA and Xbox are expected to be present and to use the German event to present news about their upcoming projects. Without a doubt, there are plenty of reasons to get excited.

So tell us, do you think this year’s Gamescom is going to live up to expectations? Let us hear from you in the comments. As a reminder, the Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live is scheduled for August 23. For more news related to this event, click here.
