This is already the fourth weekend with “Avatar: The Way of Water” in theaters. Only during the last 3 days, the movie raked in more than $45 million in the United States, besting its rivals in the US (“M3GAN” from second place which generated about $30 million).
The film’s total amount earned in theaters worldwide is already $1.7 billion ($516 million in the US and $1.19 billion in other countries).
Due to huge audience interest, the movie has already surpassed the results of “The Avengers” (2012), 2019’s “The Lion King,” “Top Gun: Marverick” and “Jurassic World,” ranking seventh in the list of highest-grossing films in history.
