Counter-Strike 2’s New Anti-Cheat System: Will it Stop Matches Mid-game?

VAC Live Takes on Cheaters, While Other Games Like Valorant Offer No Such Protection.

Recently, dataminers have discovered that Valve has developed a new and improved anti-cheat system for Counter-Strike 2. This system, called VAC Live, is designed to detect and stop cheaters mid-game by canceling the match.

This news has caused quite a stir among Counter-Strike fans, who are eagerly anticipating the release of the game in summer 2023.

The idea behind VAC Live is simple: if a player is caught cheating during a match, the system will cancel the game and punish the cheater accordingly.

This is similar to what other online shooters like Overwatch 2 and Valorant have done in the past. In those games, matches are stopped immediately without a winner or loser being declared. Cheaters are punished with account suspensions or even permanent bans.

While the introduction of VAC Live in Counter-Strike 2 is a welcome addition for players, it remains to be seen how effective and precise the system will be. Cheaters are always finding new ways to bypass anti-cheat systems, so it’s up to Valve to stay one step ahead.

In contrast to Counter-Strike 2’s VAC Live, other games like Valorant currently offer no such protection against cheaters. This has caused frustration among Valorant players who have to deal with cheaters ruining their games.

Riot Games, the developer of Valorant, has implemented a reporting system for cheaters, but it is not as effective as an anti-cheat system that can stop cheaters mid-game.

Aside from VAC Live, Valve has also hinted at the possibility of Counter-Strike 2 being available on mobile devices in the future. This news has fueled speculation among fans, but there has been no official confirmation from Valve yet.

Counter-Strike 2 is currently in closed beta and only accessible to players who have been directly invited by Valve.

The full version is set to release in summer 2023 and will come with significant technological improvements compared to the previous version, CS:GO. Skins, items, and blocked accounts from CS:GO will also be transferred to the new game. With VAC Live in tow, Counter-Strike 2 is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the beloved franchise.
