Redfall, the upcoming Xbox and PC exclusive game from Arkane and Microsoft, is set to release on May 2, 2023. The cooperative action shooter follows four heroes battling against hordes of vampires in a small Massachusetts town after an experiment by biotech company Aevum turns the townspeople into vampires.
The game offers both single-player and cooperative experiences, allowing players to choose from four playable characters, each with unique abilities and skills. And in the latest trailer, we get a glimpse of the story behind one of the game’s protagonists, Layla Ellison.
Layla Ellison is a young woman endowed with psychic powers that become useful in the fight against the vampires. She is one of the four playable characters in Redfall, and her story is one of heartbreak and resilience.
In the trailer, we see Layla and her boyfriend Jason leaving the theater when they are suddenly attacked by a horde of bloodsuckers. Jason sacrifices himself to save Layla, and she is left alone to fight the vampires.
However, Layla is not defenseless. She has the power to manipulate elements and generate energy shields, and even summon her deceased boyfriend to fight alongside her. These abilities make her a formidable opponent against the vampires that roam the town.
Redfall offers an open-world experience, and the game world is five times larger than Talos I, the space station from Prey (2017), another Arkane game. The game’s playability is designed to appeal to both solo players and those looking for a cooperative experience.
Overall, Redfall promises to be an exciting and immersive gaming experience with its unique storyline, cooperative gameplay, and diverse cast of characters.
It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam, and the best part is that players won’t need an internet connection to play. If you’re looking for a thrilling adventure and want to fight against a horde of vampires, Redfall might be the game for you.
