In a recent episode of the XboxEra podcast, insider Shpeshal Nick divulged some intriguing details about the supposed Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.
He hinted that the game could potentially be unveiled at the next PlayStation Showcase, although this is far from confirmed. According to Shpeshal Nick, the revamped adventures of Naked Snake might be subject to “some form of exclusivity on PS5.”
This speculation isn’t entirely unexpected, as some reports claim that Sony’s Bluepoint Games studio is taking the helm for the project.
Notably, the team has had prior experience with the franchise, having worked on the well-received remasters of MGS2 and MGS3, which were featured in the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PS Vita, PS3, and Xbox 360 (the Peace Walker remaster was handled by Armature Studio).
Confirmations of Exclusivity and Temporary Exclusivity
Another industry insider, Jez Corden from Windows Central, has also mentioned hearing information about the exclusivity or temporary exclusivity of the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake on PlayStation 5 consoles.
Corden noted that a similar situation might also apply to new projects in the Castlevania series, which has been the subject of much speculation.
Corden has previously stated that, according to his sources, Sony has struck a deal with Konami, which implies that owners of other platforms might have to wait longer for the game, if it even arrives at all.
However, given recent leaks and accusations of Sony’s aggressive business practices, it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility that these games may never make their way to Microsoft’s consoles.
