The charming world of Tchia, a game celebrated for its unique take on adventure and exploration, is set to captivate a broader audience with its upcoming Steam release in March 2024. Since its initial launch in March 2023 as an Epic Games Store exclusive, Tchia has been a subject of admiration, particularly for its deep connection to New Caledonian culture and folklore.

Developed by Awaceb, Tchia allows players to embark on an enchanting journey through a tropical archipelago that mirrors the Pacific nation of New Caledonia. Players assume the role of Tchia, a young woman endowed with the remarkable ability to ‘soul jump’ into both animals and inanimate objects. This unique mechanic not only adds depth to the gameplay but also weaves a rich tapestry of the island’s culture and stories.

New Features and Updates

The Steam release is more than just a platform expansion. It promises to enrich the gaming experience with fresh updates, including a new outfit perks system where Tchia’s clothing provides various environmental benefits. This feature, along with added cosmetics, allows players to personalize their adventure further.

Additionally, new soul melodies are being introduced. These melodies provide abilities like launching into the skies or creating shockwaves – adding another layer of interaction with the game’s vibrant world.

Tchia’s heartfelt storytelling and authentic portrayal of New Caledonian culture have earned it a nomination for the Games for Impact category at The Game Awards. This recognition highlights the game’s ability to leave a profound impact on its players, standing alongside titles like Venba and Terra Nil.

With its Steam debut, Tchia is expected to reach new heights of popularity. The game’s blend of stunning visuals, captivating gameplay, and cultural authenticity make it one of the standout PC games of 2023. Gamers are encouraged to wishlist Tchia on Steam to experience its enchanting world firsthand.
