As fans of Genshin Impact eagerly anticipate the return of the Lantern Rite Festival, one of the game’s most celebrated events, speculation is mounting about its 2024 iteration. The Lantern Rite, deeply rooted in the culture of the in-game region of Liyue, mirrors the vibrancy of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Known for its lavish rewards, including Primogems, complimentary 4-star characters, and an array of mini-events, the Lantern Rite stands out as a highlight in the game’s annual calendar.
A Festive Forecast: Predicting the 2024 Lantern Rite
With the winding down of Genshin Impact version 4.3’s phase 1, featuring the limited banners of Ayaka and Navia, and the upcoming phase 2 with Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya, anticipation for the Lantern Rite grows.
The game’s version 4.4, set to launch on January 31, 2024, is widely expected to include the Lantern Rite festival, though official confirmation remains pending.
The Lantern Rite traditionally aligns with the Lunar New Year, which in 2024 falls on February 10. This timing suggests that the event could either commence on January 31 or in the early days of February.
Adding to the excitement, version 4.4 is rumored to feature the banner of Xianyun, better known as Cloud Retainer, a prominent mythical figure in the Liyue region. Her inclusion in the first phase of version 4.4 further hints at the possible start date for the Lantern Rite.
Awaiting Official Confirmation
While speculation continues to build, the exact start date for the 2024 Lantern Rite in Genshin Impact remains unconfirmed. This has not dampened the enthusiasm of the game’s vast player base, who eagerly await the event each year for its rich cultural representation, generous rewards, and engaging gameplay. As soon as official details are released, fans can expect updates that will shed light on what to expect from Liyue’s grandest festival in its latest iteration.
The Lantern Rite Festival is not just an event in Genshin Impact; it is a celebration of culture, tradition, and community within the game. As players from around the globe join in the festivities, they share in the joy and spirit of the occasion, making it a truly global event. With bated breath, the gaming community awaits the official announcement, ready to immerse themselves once more in the beauty and excitement of Liyue’s Lantern Rite.
