In the first official trailer, Kate Winslet wholly inhabits the role of Miller, capturing the spirit and tenacity of this trailblazing artist. The tense footage transports viewers to the South of France in 1938, where Miller’s journey begins amid a circle of artists, poets, and confidants. However, her path soon takes a harrowing turn as she becomes a war correspondent for Vogue magazine, documenting the realities of World War II with an unflinching lens.
Winslet’s portrayal promises to be a tour de force, showcasing Miller’s unwavering determination to capture the fragility and ferocity of the human experience, even at great personal cost. The iconic image of Miller defiantly posing in Hitler’s private bathtub serves as a powerful testament to her fearlessness and commitment to exposing the truth.
Joining Winslet in this cinematic exploration of Miller’s life is an ensemble cast of remarkable talents, including Alexander Skarsgård, Andrea Riseborough, Marion Cotillard, Josh O’Connor, Noémie Merlant, Samuel Barnett, and Andy Samberg, who portrays Miller’s photographer friend David E. Scherman.

Adapted from the biography “The Lives of Lee Miller” by Antony Penrose, the film delves into Miller’s profound understanding and empathy for women and the forgotten casualties of conflict. Her images not only document the atrocities of war but also celebrate the resilience and strength of the human spirit.
With Kuras’ acclaimed cinematography background, “Lee” promises to be a visually stunning and emotionally charged exploration of Miller’s life and work.
